I’ll tell the whole story on Monday, but until then, here’s the moment for which The Guy and several of my friends jumped through more hoops than Scarlett O’Hara.

I’m all weepy over here…FABULOUS moment!!!
I was pretty weepy over there, too! Mascara down to my elbows, I tell you!
As my mom would say, I’m verklempt. Congrats, hun!
Thanks, Cassie!
I’m reading this at 6:30 am. I’ve just done my makeup. Now I have to go do it all over again! Thanks for sharing such a special moment. And congratulations!!
Thanks, Lori! I, too, am quickly learning the merits of waterproof mascara.
You’re so gorgeous and cute when you’re happy!
Congratulations, Kelly! SO, so happy for you.
Way to go, Dude (and friends)! Nice job!
Thanks, Cristy! They worked really hard for that surprise, and it definitely paid off!
That was so cool! Can’t wait to see the full story. (Like how did they know you were going to be at that particular shelf?)
But geez, what will you call this site after you’re no longer a Bachelor Girl?
Blogger Formerly Known as Bachelor Girl?
Married Girl?
No Longer Bachelor Girl?
Rebranding sucks… But still, hearty congratulations!
Thanks, Bluz!
In 2008, when Jessica the Web Mistress and I started Bachelor Girl, the idea that I’d be married in two years was laughable, but we’ve nevertheless had a plan since Day One.
I can’t wait to tell everyone about the “rebranding” of Bachelor Girl!
Ok, you just made me cry. That is the sweetest and most thoughtful proposal ever!
I love you Kel and Blake!
And we love YOU!
Amazing! So much love to you both!
Thank you, Julie!
OMG, so cute!
I’m dying to know what’s inside the book!
See the following post. I love the story of The Kissing Hand. Then again, all children’s books have a special place in my heart. In fact, we’ve already decided that we’re going to read a selection from The Velveteen Rabbit at the wedding!
I knew he was a keeper!!
That’s the sweetest thing ever. And you have it on VIDEO!!
If anyone deserves that much sublime happiness, it is you. Thanks so much for sharing your special moment with us!
Aw, thanks, Mer! He’s pretty fantastic, and I can’t WAIT to marry him!
yay! again.
And yay for all you did for us, my sweet friend!
I have come back and watched this video 4 or 5 times now and tear up every time! Congrats again girl and I can’t wait to hear and see how this all went down, learn about how your site will renew itself and then hear how all the wedding planning goes!
Thanks, Manda!
October 16: Road trip to the Gret Stet of Looseeanna!
SO GOOD!
Why the children’s section? That’s where I worked in my B&N for so long, so it was especially cute for me. I guess Will You Marry Me, Kelly Phelan? would have looked too out of place amidst some trade paperbacks.
My favourite part of the video is the beginning where you picked your butt. Don’t try to deny it.
I cringe EVERY TIME I SEE IT. I was actually pulling down my camisole, but STILL. It looks EXACTLY like I’m picking my butt. I guess we’re just lucky I didn’t shove my arm down the back of my jeans to dislodge my thong (as I am wont to do).
There were two reasons for the children’s section:
1. It was the only area that the employees could keep people out of for a few minutes.
2. It’s really special to us. We probably spend more time reading the children’s books than anything else. Like I told Tracey, we’ve already decided to read a selection from The Velveteen Rabbit at the wedding.
[...] to eat at Danh’s Garden, then browsed the books at Barnes & Noble (which, as you know, is a pretty special place for us). Not surprisingly, we made our way to the Parenting & Family section, where I picked up [...]
